TCFC is saddened to hear of the passing of Noel Reid, he was instrumental and the driving force in establishing juvenile soccer in the club with a vision of what could be achieved. He gave so much time and effort by starting with one team and then growing the membership year on year. Noel believed greatly in two things and that being – Why should Termonfeckin not have a vibrant soccer club and if you live local you should have the opportunity to play soccer locally.
Noel was ‘The Club’ on his own when soccer got going for young people and many years later so many young people have enjoyed the fruits of the seeds he sowed as they enjoyed many great years playing for the club. Today it is a vibrant club within the community and quite simply it would not exist without his vision and determination before he handed the baton on to others to continue and build on what he started.
Every kid that has worn the jersey and every parent of that kid owes him so much and his legacy lives on within TCFC. One man could see a sports club within the village with hundreds of kids playing a sport they love each week and despite may obstacles he made it happen! RIP Noel and Thank You.
